EV transition scenario
Which vehicle could go electric?
Describe one vehicle and how it is used. We will show whether an electric replacement suits it, what it could cost or save over the contract, and how many electric alternatives fit. The result depends on the answers you give and the assumptions we show; you can change either.
- 1 Your vehicle
- 2 How it is used
- 3 Your result
Which vehicle are you thinking of replacing?
Estimates from the information you give and the assumptions shown, not a quotation. About these figures and their sources
About these figures
These are estimates from the information you give and the assumptions listed with each result. They are not a quotation. Live prices for the named vehicles come from a fleet specialist, who checks them before any offer.
- Cost difference. Over the contract term, excluding recoverable VAT, on business contract hire. The result lists the costs included and is rounded; it is calculated by the Orbis platform, powered by Covase.
- Suitability. Compares the longest regular day with each electric alternative's official (WLTP) range, keeping a reserve for cold weather, motorway driving and battery ageing, and checks overnight charging. Missing information never counts in favour of a vehicle.
- CO₂. Exhaust (tailpipe) emissions only. It excludes electricity generation and vehicle manufacturing, so an electric vehicle is not zero-carbon over its life.
- Vehicle data and pricing. The vehicles, their WLTP ranges and the prices behind each cost difference are from our current contract-hire pricing; each result gives its date under “Assumptions used”.
- Energy use. Official type-approval figures: the UK Vehicle Certification Agency first, and the European Environment Agency's register of new EU cars where the UK figure is not published.
Contains public sector information from the Vehicle Certification Agency. Contains EEA data: Monitoring of CO2 emissions from passenger cars (European Commission, DG CLIMA), CC BY 4.0; aggregated by make, model, power, energy use and range.
